Brazilian Butt Lift

WHAT IS A BRAZILIAN BUTT LIFT

The Brazilian Butt Lift refines the entire “S”-shaped curve of your profile. The procedure begins with liposuction, as excess fat is removed from selected areas of the hips, thighs, back and abdomen. This suctioned fat is “purified” and later transferred to the upper buttocks in small amounts;  strategically injected at varying depths to form an enhanced, but very natural, new curve.

Butt Lift is beneficial for several reasons, including the following:

• The areas that are liposuctioned are often “problem areas” (i.e., the flanks, thighs, lower back and abdomen) that are hard to reduce with diet and exercise;
• By removing fat from these body parts, the area around the buttocks looks smaller and leaner;
• The liposuctioned fat is injected into the upper quadrant of the buttocks so it looks lifted in all the right places. The result is a beautiful “S”-shaped curve.
• Using the patient’s own fat decreases the risk of infection or adverse reaction.

RECOVERY

Immediately after Brazilian butt lift surgery, one experiences some discomfort for a few hours after the anesthesia wears off.  Dr. Antun will give you medication for pain relief to keep you as comfortable as possible.

During the first week following your procedure, it is important to avoid the sitting position.  You will be given a special garment to wear during recovery to reduce swelling.  Application of cold compresses will further aid to reduce swelling and ease any discomfort.

One month after your procedure,  swelling will have reduced substantially and you may resume normal exercise routines.

Your complete and speedy recovery requires that several specific instructions be followed, including certain positions for rest and sleep, bathing techniques and mild exercises.

ANESTHESIA

All surgical procedures that require the administration of general anesthesia have a professional MD Anesthesiologist administering the anesthesia.

How long does the procedure take?

Operating time for the Brazilian Butt Lift is about two hours.

POSSIBLE COMPLICATIONS

The most common risk associated with this procedure is possible absorption of the transferred fat in the weeks following surgery. While not dangerous, this occurrence would require a second insertion of fat into the buttocks. Asymmetry, in which one side of the buttocks looks different than the other side, is also possible. However, this result is most likely in patients with significant asymmetry prior to surgery. Good communication between doctor and patient is always important. We encourage you to talk to Dr. Antun and his skilled staff about all your questions and concerns.
